Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Quintet in B-flat Major, Op. 34, performed by the Ivalas Quartet with clarinetist Benjamin Adler at the Edwards Interfaith Chapel in Edwards, Colorado.
This performance was recorded using a Zoom F8n field recorder and a stereo pair of small- diaphragm condenser microphones. The microphones were arranged as a stereo pair and positioned to face the ensemble, allowing for balanced capture of the string quartet and solo clarinet while preserving the natural acoustics and reverberation of the chapel.
During sound check I set the gain levels and adjusted throughout as needed to ensure a high-level recording of a classical music performance. Post-production mixing was completed by me, making sure to balance the stereo sound, and depth of the recording. This was then cataloged and stored in the Bravo! Vail archival
